IHACI

The Institute of Heating and Air Conditioning Industries, Inc. (IHACI) hasn’t seen an interior renovation since the 1980s. In need of an uplift, renovations began from the floor up. Starting with their outdated green carpet and floral wallpaper, IHACI realized they would need to be brought into the 21st century. As IHACI began to lean more towards modern times, they started to reconsider the look and feel of their workplace. Wanting to enhance wellness throughout design, IHACI aspired to overhaul the functionality of workstations and private offices. IHACI also sought to have better options for storage, as they required having accessible hideaways for items currently cluttering open spaces. Therefore, bluespace interiors began to lay out the ground work to update IHACI’s space planning and connected with manufacturing partners to curate solutions that would align with IHACI’s vision, brand and long-term objectives.

Working from the floor up, IHACI needed a durable and sustainable alternative to traditional hardwood. To offer advanced protection from drops and spills, we installed waterproof luxury vinyl tile. This high-performing solution by Mohawk Flooring was a substantial upgrade from the green carpet that was laid out across the building. Resembling a natural look, we turned to OFS to customize workstations that would continue to portray a sense of tranquility. While specifying personal and shared desking systems to have neutral and earthy tones, we incorporated innovative technologies to streamline adjustability and versatility. To enrich personal autonomy, we completed workstations with curated selections of ergonomic 9to5 Seating.

While IHACI had a desire for adequate space division, it was important that their new and improved workspaces would support their employee’s overall well-being. By incorporating warm accents with a splash of color from plants and flowers, we were able to establish a workplace that employees feel good being in. By creating workspaces that support personal autonomy, our adjustable desking and ergonomic seating boosted employee morale. While highlighting IHACI’s brand and company culture, we worked with manufacturing partners to curate solutions that adapted their workspaces to enter the future of work. This evolved workplace is what we like to call a bluespace.
