Founded in 1944, this prestigious litigation law firm is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, with offices in ten cities across the United States, including San Francisco, California.

The Vision

As part of a renewed workplace strategy, the firm sought to realign its San Francisco office with the evolving needs of its business and workforce. A tight relocation timeline required swift execution to avoid over-market lease costs, while the new environment needed to better support a hybrid work culture.

Key priorities included increased hoteling, enhanced lounge and break areas, and refined reception spaces. The previous office lacked the flexibility required to support multiple work styles, creating a need for a more adaptable, efficient layout. An additional requirement was to evaluate existing furniture for reuse without compromising the refreshed aesthetic.

Scope of Work

bluespace interiors partnered with the firm to deliver a solution-centric design approach tailored to legal workflows and brand presence. Custom solutions were developed to balance functionality, flexibility, and visual consistency across both private and shared spaces.

In collaboration with a custom wood manufacturer, bespoke millwork was designed to integrate storage, workspaces, and client-facing counters. Custom wood tops were specified for height-adjustable desks, wardrobe storage, and bookcases—each tailored to complement the firm’s brand and enhance reception and open areas.

Previously constrained secretarial workstations were reconfigured with expanded storage to better support filing and personal needs. Additional furnishings supported banquettes, multimedia stations, and soft seating throughout shared environments, while ergonomic solutions improved daily performance across workstations.

Project Management

bluespace interiors served as the agile project manager throughout the process, overseeing space planning, furniture specification, budgeting, and installation logistics. The team proactively navigated supply-chain challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining a strict relocation schedule.

By sourcing high-design, commercial-grade solutions at lower cost than designer-specified lines and seamlessly coordinating installation and move partners, the project was completed to professional standards—on time and under budget—meeting all functional, aesthetic, and operational requirements.
