UCI Health - Irvine Project Nominated at the 38th Annual IIDA SoCal Calibre Design Awards

bluespace interiors’ collaborated project led by CO Architects for UCI Health – Irvine gets nominated at the 38th Annual IIDA SoCal Calibre Design Awards.

On May 21, 2026, UCI Health - Irvine Project was nominated at the 38th Annual IIDA Southern California Chapter Calibre Design Awards, held at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. As the furniture partner on the UCI Health – Irvine campus, we’re proud that the project was nominated in the Health Environments Large 2026 Calibre Design Awards category.

UCI Health - Irvine balances hospitality-inspired warmth with clinical functionality, designed for patients and providers alike.

For 38 years, the Calibre Design Awards have stood as one of the most respected recognitions in commercial interior design across Southern California. The event brings together the region's top designers, architects, and creative teams to honor the work that shapes how people experience the spaces where they live and work. This year's gala was no exception, with the room full of talented people behind impressive projects, and it was made clear to us just how much this community cares about the craft.

Being part of a team that was nominated alongside others in the category means a lot to us. The nomination belongs to the full UCI Health Irvine team, led by CO Architects, and we are honored to contribute as their furniture partner, helping bring the design vision to life across some of the most complex healthcare environments in the region. It's a reflection of the hard work our team puts into every project and a reminder of why we do what we do.

The level of work recognized across all categories was inspiring. Congratulations to all of this year's winners. Each project represented not just a beautiful space, but a real collaboration between designers, builders, clients, and communities. That kind of work takes time, trust, and a lot of people pulling in the same direction.

Seeing student work being supported through the Best of Design and Student Design Charrette scholarship competitions is one of our favorite parts of the program. This is where the next generation of designers brings fresh perspectives to the problems this industry is here to solve. This is how the craft stays vital.

The spaces we design change how people feel when they walk in the door; how they collaborate, focus, and connect. That idea from Cheryl Durst, Vice President and CEO of IIDA, sits at the core of what we believe in at Bluespace Interiors and is a good reminder that the broader industry does, too.

Thank you to IIDA Southern California for putting together an event that celebrates the work and everyone who made this year's Calibre possible. We are honored to have been part of it.
